Muneerah Yate
Based in Hertfordshire and London. My practice is socially engaged, multidisciplinary and intrinsically informed by my Muslim upbringing and dual British and Iranian heritage. My work is heavily driven by a relentless fascination with the effects of societal and cultural norms on the human experience. With a specific focus on power dynamics and advocacy, I continue to organise and collaborate on creative projects exploring the female and / or diaspora experience in the UK. I am committed to using the arts to facilitate awareness, growth, connection, self-discovery and empowerment.
Graduating in September 2022, I completed my BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts. I am also Executive Assistant and Developing Talent Assisant at tiata fahodzi Theatre company where i work closely with the Artistic Director and CEO, Chinonyerem Odimba, and the tf Executive Team.
